Set in the heart of the jigsaw puzzle white, hilltop vilage of Alcalá de los Gazules, this charming townhouse of filled with enchanting curves and corners. Situated on a quiet stone paved lane where cars occasionally pass, but within easy walking distance to all village amenities.
The balcony is our favourite place, with stunning views of the village roof tops and surrounding countryside, you won´t be disappointed! We aim to create an ecosystem mirroring the surrounding nature. Watch the swollows swoop whilst the vultures and kestrels hover above whilst enjoying a drink in the shade. In the evening enjoy the view, sitting high above the nature park. Fully furnished, the balcony is a great place to dine al fresco and with approximately 360 days of sunshine a year you can do this whatever time of year.
We love to cook and the terrace is equipt with a plancha, barbecue, small fridge and an upcycled kitchen area where there are shevles and a place to prepare food. There is electricity and solar lighting.
The rooms are light and airy and thoughtfully decorated, all equipt with fans and heaters. The kitchen is fully equipt with cooking utensils, oven, hob and fridge freezer. Main bathroom has a bath and over bath shower, a bidet and hairdryer. The second bathroom has a shower.
Alcalá de los Gazules is set in the heart of the Alcorocales natural park but also within easy reach of the famous Costa de la Luz beaches. So if you are interested in walking, cycling, birdwatching, exploring the beautiful countryside of the nature park, this is the house for you. Or alternatively spend the day at the beach, then escape the traffic and commercialism of the coast and return of the hilltop village to dine alfresco on the terrace
The village itself has winding streets to explore. Buy your wares from local shops specializing in regional products Try the local meats, cheeses, honey and wines. Visit the small local bakery 1 minute from the house and the saddlery, selling artisan leather goods.
The village has several plazas which come alive on summer evenings and weekend afternoons throughout the year. The people love to stroll and chat and the pace is enticingly slow. There are traditional bars serving local food such as venison and wild boar, alongside local wines.
On a hot summer afternoon the public swimming pool, surrounded by mountains, is a great place to relax. Take your own supplies, or order tapas from the bar there.
We have a comprehensive local knowledge of the area and it´s ecosystem and will be glad to help with planning your holiday. The house has a wide selection of maps and guides. The visitors centre of the Alcornocales is also situated in Alcalá and is well worth a visit.
The house is an excellent choice for all seasons of the year. Andalucia has a mild climate with many sunny winter days. In the evening relax in the comfortable lounge. There is a good selection of recreational resources including games, novels, many information books and leaflets about the area. The house has a good wifi connection.
The house is not suitable for very young children or those who have difficulty with stairs.
